Oh no, it's Back Again!
The Pro Football Showdown has returned to the
airwaves. Now a part of the Weekend Sports Report.
Listen
to January 3, 2009
Well, it's 2009 and there are no
Packer or Bear playoff games ("Playoffs.....are you kidding
me....playoffs?") So we thought we'd go back and bring you the worst, er
I mean best of the 2008 season of the Pro Football Showdown.
As tough as it was, we combed the
shows from this season to find the lowest of the lows, the funniest of
laughs, and some of the most outrageous moments of the year for your
entertainment.
We apologize for what you are about to
hear, but it can be a very cleansing experience. Enjoy.
Listen
to December 27, 2008
Packer Dave comes to the Illinois
studio for one of the funniest shows of the year. He covered the
Bears-Packers overtime thriller (well....would you believe entertaining)
at Soldier Field. The guys discuss the Bears playoff chances, whether
the Packers will keep the Lions from making history on Sunday.
Poor fan Viking Ken calls in, only to
get abused by a distraught Dave, and an Internet only exclusive - an
encore presentation of our special rendition of "Twas the Night Before
Christmas." Get our picks of the week, including the
producer's choices via sound effects, along with cameos from Bob Costas,
Jeff Foxworthy, and Len Dawson, and Dick Vitale.
Listen
to December 20, 2008
The Packers are out, the Bears' hopes
for a playoff spot - "Playoffs? Are you kidding me..... playoffs?"
are slim at best, hinge on Minnesota losing at home.
In one of the best shows of the year thus far, the guys look at the
upcoming games including the big Bear-Packer game, the Giants -
Panthers, and Steelers - Titans games. Brandt Douglas of the Tennessee
Radio Network joins us with a preview from Music City.
Also hear a special rendition of 'Twas
the Night Before Christmas as only we can deliver, plus interviews
from Mike McCarthy, Pro-Bowl bound Nick Collins, Lovie Smith, Pittsburgh
coach Mike Tomlin, and Eli Manning.
Listen
to December 13, 2008
The Packers suffer ANOTHER last second
loss (do we see a pattern here?) while the Bears keep pace with the
Vikes by beating New Orleans in an overtime thriller.
Plus, we dip into the archives for
interviews with former Packers QB Lynn Dickey and the late Dan Devine
(Packers and Notre Dame coach)
Dave, Andy, and the Producer (via
sound effects) make their weekend picks.
Listen
to December 6, 2008
When the Bears and Packers both lose,
it makes for quite an entertaining show. They are both behind the
Vikings for the division lead, and likely the only playoff berth out of
the NFC North. Andy Dorf sits in as Les Grobstein is on assignment.
Let the fun begin.
Interviews from Kyle Orton, Aaron
Rogers, Bernard Berian, Mike McCarthy, Greg Jennings, and Jon Gruden.
Cameos from Jeff Foxworthy, Pat
Hughes, and Bob Uecker.
Listen
to November 29, 2008
Thanksgiving weekend insanity and
hilarity with the guys as the Packer defense gives up 51 points to New
Orleans, and the Bears run rampant on the hapless St. Louis Rams. Now
the Packers need to win at all costs to stay in the playoff hunt. A
Bear win at Minnesota would put them in the drivers seat in the tepid
NFC North.
Hear from Brian Urlacher, Lance
Briggs, Green Bay coach McCarthy, plus Aarons Rogers and Kampman.
Cameos from Bob Costas, Ahmad Rashad,
Len Dawson, and Jim Marshall
Listen
to November 22, 2008
Dave gloats and Len moans about Green Bay's 37-3
drubbing of the Bears at Lambeau Field last weekend. The Grobber talks
about his experiences at the game (since he was the only one present.)
Also previews of this weekend's matchups including Bears-Rams and
Packers-Saints. Don't miss the weekly Favre update, interviews,
predictions, and the usual merryment and mayhem.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Listen to November 15, 2008
Former cast member Steve Kohn
(pictured left) joins Len and Dave for a Bears-Packers preview. Andy
Dorf is a no show, so they guys are forced to give the producer, Steve
Leventhal some airtime. It's all downhill from there.
Featuring interviews from Kyle Orton,
Rex Grossman, Adewale Ogunleye, Aaron Rogers, Mike McCarthy, and more.
Cameos from Chris Berman, Jeff Foxworthy, Dick Butkus, and Len Dawson.
Listen
to Movember 8, 2008
Dave and Len are
joined by Andy Dorf to talk about the Packers-Vikes and Bears-Titans
games. Special guest Jill Carlson makes her first return visit on the
show in almost ten years.
Hear comments from
Aaron Rodgers, Nick Barnett, Kyle Orton, Lovie Smith, Brett Favre,
Donovan McNabb, and more.
Another funny, funny
show with cameos from Amhad Rashad, Brnet Musberger, and Jim Marshall.
Listen to November 1, 2008
Yep, that trainwreck
on the radio (and Internet) is back for another season of mayhem,
blabbering, and irreverent football talk. Follow the antics of Len,
Packer Dave, and the Grobber.
This week a preview of
the Bears-Lions and Packers-Titans. Brandt Douglas of the Tennessee
Radio Network checks in from Music City with a look at the unbeaten
Titans.
Plus comments from Ben
Roethlisberger, Brett Favre, Lions coach Rod Marinelli, Jeff Fisher, and
Aaron Rogers, plus lots of stupidity, crazy sound effects, and the usual
nonsense.

wacky, and wonderful season on the Pro Football Showdown. What a grand
send off. Comedian/writer/actor
Jeff Cesario
joins the guys as he and Dave relive their days on the set of the
Charlie Sheen movie "The Five Aces." Of course no finale would be
complete without a Super Bowl wrap up. Len brings his "A" game as he
once again skewers Dave.
Cameos from Pat Hughes, Bob Uecker, Jeff
Foxworthy, Dick Vitale, and Len Dawson.
Listen
to February 3, 2008

Dave..... from the thrill of victory in the Divisional Playoffs to the

the Packer loss. Also, former cast member Bob Greenberg phones in to

and Len Dawson.

conference championship games. They also talk about former cast member
Bob Greenberg with some of the funny anecdotes that are suitable for
airing. SRN's newest reporter, the lovely Jillian Jesk, stops by for a
visit as well.
Listen
to January 13, 2008
Playoff action moves into overdrive and the
guys get ready for the best weekend of the NFL season. They discuss the
four great matchups: Seattle at Green Bay, Jacksonville at New England,
New York at Dallas, and San Diego at Indy.
Zack Legend
(Colts Fan) joins the guys for analysis of the Colts-Bolts game.
Plus all the usual insanity and hilarity you've come to expect on the
show. Cameos from Dick Vitale, Chris Berman, Len Dawson, and Brent
Musberger.
Listen
to January 6, 2008
Ring in the new year with a look back at the
best of the 2007 season (so far.)
This includes the Packers' overtime win against
Denver, the Bears' comeback win over the Broncos - when Devin Hester had
two returns for touchdown, and the December 23rd Bears-Packers preview
show.
Catch all the fun, merriment, and of course
great football talk with your favorite cast members.
Also, don't miss round one of the NFL playoffs
preview as well.
Listen
to December 30, 2007
Packer
Dave reports from Lambeau field in advance of the season finale vs the
Lions. He is joined in the studio by show producer Steve Leventhal,
making a rare on-air appearance. In addition to a wrap up of the
Bear-Packer game, the guys time warp back to present some classic
interviews from ten years ago. Hear Dave and Len along with Steve Kohn
and Bob Greenberg as they talk to former Packers Jim Taylor and Lynn
Dickey, plus the late Dan Devine for Packers and Notre Dame coach. Also
check out a special x-mas song for Packer Dave.
Listen
to December 23, 2007
It's Bears-Packers Week! Like
death, taxes, and delays at O'Hare airport - the two Chicago-Green Bay
games are part of the natural order of things. Dave, Len, and the
Grobber talk about the upcoming game, as well as review the Bears loss
at Minnesota and the Packers win in St. Louis. Green Bay needs the win
to keep their chances for home field advantage alive. Chicago would
like a win against their rival to salvage a disastrous season. The guys
are joined by
SRN Broadcasting
reporter Mark Meyers with analysis of the Viking game Monday night.
Cameos from Robbie Gould, Dick
Vitale, Bob Costas, and Bob Uecker.
Listen
to December 16, 2007
One of the funniest
episodes of the season. Dave, Len, and the Grobber are joined by former
cast member
Steve
Kohn. Always a source of good jokes on the program, Kohn doesn't
disappoint, as he brings more zingers than the Bears offensive line has
accrued in procedure penalties. Also, the guys preview the Packers-Rams
and Bears- Vikes game. Don't miss cameos from Jeff Foxworthy, Amhad
Rashad, Len Dawson, and Pat Hughes.

Since Les was jetting back from
the bumbling Bears' loss at Washington, and Len Ackerman was searching
for Holiday buffets this week, Dave takes on the task of previewing the
Packers-Raiders game and Steelers versus the Patriots, with the help of
Andy Dorf. But don't worry, there's plenty of laughs as the producers
dip into the audio vault to bring you excerpts of some of the best (or
worst, depending on your perspective) programs from the show's 14-year
history. Time warp back to hear discussion of two classic Bear-Packer
games - the 11/14/99 program, shortly after Walter Payton's death, when
Bryan Robinson blocked a last-second FG to preserve a 14-13 win for
Chicago. Also, visit the 12/10/00 show, after a 28-6 Bears drubbing by
Green Bay, when Dave gets Len so riled up, he walks off the show.

Len, bring their A-game to the studio in this hilarious episode of the
most irreverent football show on the radio and Internet.
